Story
Team GS Australia needs your support as we undertake the challenging Kokoda Track in May 2016 to raise funds for Interplast Australia & New Zealand.
Hayley Morris, Anthony Miller, Cath Rich, Olivia Brown and Chris Champion will spend 7 gruelling days trekking through mud in the PNG jungle, enduring the kind of extreme physical exertion not usually encountered by bankers. Our goal is to raise much needed funds in support of Interplast's amazing work repairing bodies and rebuilding lives throughout the Asia Pacific region. We will have the photos to prove it (including the absence of iPhones/blackberrys, hairdryers, shavers or showers….)
For decades, Interplast has worked on the ground in some of the world’s poorest countries to provide free surgical treatment and deliver safe, healthier and more sustainable healthcare initiatives for local populations.
With your donations and support, Interplast's teams of volunteer plastic and reconstructive surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and allied health professionals can continue to provide free surgical treatment to patients living with treatable disabilities such as cleft lip and palate, burn scars and severe hand and other injuries. The funds we raise as part of this incredible adventure will also enable Interplast to train the next generation of surgical leaders in each of the countries in which they work. Through education, training and mentoring programs, Interplast empowers in-country medical personnel to perform life-saving procedures independently in the future.

Interplast Australia & New Zealand
Since 1983, we have delivered more than 880 programs across 25 countries, resulting in more than 750 surgical and allied health medical program activities that make a huge difference in the lives of some of the world’s poorest people.
With the support of people just like you, we have:
- Performed more than 23,000 life-changing operations
- Supported more than 70 surgeons and nurses from developing countries to complete part of their training in Australia and New Zealand, including the sole current plastic surgeons in both Fiji and PNG.
- Sent 800 medical volunteers, including doctors, nurses, anaesthetists and allied health professionals, on more than 880 medical programs
- Provided more than 42,000 consultations
